Weather & Mutations Guide

Weather in Garden Horizons is more than just visual effects. Each weather type affects growth speed and can apply special mutations to your crops.

Weather Types:

Key Insight:

Rare weather events (Storm, Sandstorm, Starfall) are opportunities for massive shillings. When you see them, plant your most valuable seeds immediately!

Standard Mutations:

Note: Admin-only mutations (Meteoric, Salad, Banned) exist in the game files but are not obtainable by regular players.

Critical: Mutations multiply together, NOT add!

Wrong (Addition):

Soaked (1.2x) + Flooded (1.8x) = 3.0x ❌

Correct (Multiplication):

Soaked (1.2x) × Flooded (1.8x) = 2.16x ✅

Real Example:

Cabbage with base price 60,000:

The Power of Stacking:

A single mutation is good. Multiple mutations are exponentially better!

Strategy:

When you see rare weather coming, plant expensive seeds and wait for multiple mutations to stack.

Normal Weather Days (Sunny/Fog):

• Focus on steady income crops
• Reinvest quickly
• Don't hold expensive seeds
• Build up your cash reserves

Good Weather Days (Rain/Snow):

• Plant mid-tier crops
• Mutations are likely but not guaranteed
• Good time to try new seeds

Event Weather (Storm/Sandstorm/Starfall):

• ⭐ PLANT YOUR MOST VALUABLE SEEDS IMMEDIATELY
• Apply sprinklers for maximum growth
• Wait for both Lush AND mutations before harvesting
• This is where millions are made!

Weather Duration:

Weather cycles typically last several minutes. You have time to prepare, but don't wait too long!

Pro Tip:

Keep a few high-value seeds in reserve specifically for rare weather events. Don't plant them during normal weather.

The Dream Combos (and how likely they are):

Realistic Goals:

Early Game:

• Lush + Soaked = 3.6x
• On Carrot: 30 → 108 shillings

Mid Game:

• Lush + Snowy + Gold = 30x
• On Tomato: 60 → 1,800 shillings

Late Game:

• Lush + Starstruck + Gold = 97.5x
• On Cabbage: 60k → 5.85M shillings

Planning Your Attack:

When Starfall weather hits:

1. Plant Legendary seeds (Cabbage, Cherry)

2. Apply Super Sprinkler

3. Wait for Lush (3x) + Starstruck (6.5x) = 19.5x minimum

4. If you get Gold color too = 97.5x jackpot!

When you see this weather → Do this:

🌟 Starfall (Legendary)

• IMMEDIATELY plant your most expensive seeds
• This is jackpot time
• Don't harvest until Lush + Starstruck

⛈️ Storm (Rare)

• Plant high-value crops
• Wait for Shocked mutation
• +50% growth speed helps too

🏜️ Sandstorm (Rare)

• Good for mid-tier crops
• Sandy mutation is solid
• +20% growth speed

🌧️ Rain (Common)

• Standard farming day
• Soaked/Flooded are nice bonuses
• +25% growth speed

❄️ Snow (Uncommon)

• Slower growth (-25%) but good mutations
• Chilled → Snowy → Frostbit progression
• Worth waiting through

☀️ Sunny / 🌫️ Fog (Common)

• Reinvest day
• Focus on quantity over quality
• Build up for next rare weather

Getting More Mutations:

1. Sprinklers Help

Turbo and Super Sprinklers increase the chance of mutations and crop size (which affects weight multiplier).

2. Time Matters

Mutations can apply at any time during growth. A crop might get Soaked early, then Flooded later during the same Rain weather.

3. Favorite Tool Protection

Use the Favorite Tool (80k from Molly's Gear Shop) to lock high-value mutated crops. Prevents accidentally harvesting before you're ready.

4. Combination Mutations

Some mutations only appear when you already have others:

• Have Foggy? Wait for Snow to get Mossy
• Have Sandy? Wait for Rain to get Muddy

5. Stacking Order Doesn't Matter

Whether you get Starstruck first or Lush first, the final multiplier is the same.

6. Check Before Harvest

Always check your plant's mutations before harvesting. That "normal looking" crop might have 3 mutations!
